We have some exciting news to share! Glass Staircase is officially certified as a woman-owned business with the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)!
*cue confetti cannon*
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? It means that Glass Staircase is officially recognized as a business that is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. And here at GS we are proudly 100 percent woman owned and managed!
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? Through their certification network, The WBENC addresses the challenges many women face in building and growing a business with a goal to “to ensure women business owners have access to the education, support and tools they need to grow and succeed”. Not only does WBENC provide opportunities and resources, the certification also lists members as women-owned vendors where WBENC corporate partners (like The Walt Disney Company, Airbnb and Southwest Airlines) are able to find and do business with women owned companies. The list consists of over 700 companies who look to work with minority-led businesses.
This is a huge “step” on our way to break the glass ceiling and take the stairs, as we say here at GS.
WHY SHOULD YOU BECOME A WBENC MEMBER? We encourage other women-owned businesses who look to expand to take advantage of these opportunities. It’s a great way to network, secure larger contracts, find partners who are committed to working with minorities and promote yourself as a female entrepreneur!
