The spark that ignited Siero Media came during an unexpected time—the COVID-19 pandemic. As the world shut down, many found themselves isolated, disconnected, and uncertain about the future. Sissy, too, struggled with her own worries, but instead of retreating inward, she saw an opportunity to create something that could help not just herself, but her community. In those early days of the pandemic, she launched Love in the Time of Covid-19, a community podcast designed to ease the loneliness and fears many were facing. The idea was simple, yet powerful: provide a platform for people to share their stories and connect with one another, at a time when connection was scarce.“I was grateful for the distraction from my own worries about the world and business,” Sissy reflects. Sissy’s innovative approach to creating this podcast took many forms. She recorded interviews with neighbors over fences, collected stories through social media platforms like Nextdoor, and even incorporated direct storytelling tools on her website to make it easier for people to share their experiences. “My goal was to help people feel more connected and that their stories matter,” she says. The impact was immediate, and soon Sissy was approached by a Fortune 500 company to create a podcast centered around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. From this project, Siero Media was brought into existence—a creative communications company producing broadcast-quality, purpose-driven podcasts and messaging.
However, the roots of this initiative had been planted long before the pandemic. For Sissy, the drive to create real connections through communication had always been central to her life’s work.“I’ve always known I have a mission in my life,” she says. “To create real connection through meaningful, authentic communication. The kind that is powerful, transformative, and experiential.” This core belief was nurtured from an early age. One of the most pivotal moments came when she was in 4th grade. “My 4th-grade teacher was an island of sanity in a very weird parochial school, and a gem of a woman” Sissy recalls fondly. “She really saw me; she glowed with joy, love, and respect—for herself and for her students. She helped me see myself in new ways, and that allowed me to channel my enormous energy.” This teacher’s impact was profound. Sissy, who had never felt that she belonged in school, began to see herself through a different lens—one filled with potential. Her teacher’s love and encouragement gave her the confidence to navigate the world in new ways. “Her love stays in my heart even to this day,” Sissy says with gratitude.
This lesson in self-awareness would prove invaluable as Sissy moved into her adult career, where she poured her talent and energy into a variety of creative roles. Her early years in New York City were marked by her work as a singer-songwriter and performer. “I started out in bands and expanded into creative story writing,” she recalls. “It was there that I had a surreal moment when Bruce Springsteen caught one of my band’s shows and told me he wished he’d written one of my songs!” From there, Sissy went on a national music tour as the opening act and band member for seven-time Grammy Award nominee Joan Osborne. Her career has also included notable acting roles on TV shows like Friday Night Lights and The Lying Game, and she even appeared in the fan-favorite Merry Maids YouTube commercial. However, it was in the world of multimedia production and creative communication where Sissy truly found her calling. “I realized I was always best at playing ‘me’ rather than stepping into someone else’s shoes,” she admits. By the time she launched Siero Media in 2020, Sissy had already spent 18 years navigating the world of multimedia entrepreneurship. Through these ventures, Sissy developed a deep understanding of storytelling, production, and branding—skills that would later serve as the foundation for Siero Media. In this new phase of her career, everything she had learned as a musician, creative communicator, and CEO finally came together. “It’s an honor to help clients find their true voice, bring their vision to life, and authentically share their brand’s story with the world,” she says. “The journey has been amazing—and I know the best is still ahead.”
Running her own business has taught Sissy many valuable lessons, perhaps the most important being “I have the power and confidence to affect change,” she says. “I have the agency to green-light my own inspirations and ideas!” As well as learning to balance this personal power and confidence with the ever-evolving needs of her company. “I’m constantly checking in with myself to ensure that I am not only staying true to my mission but that I am also evolving the company’s products and services to truly serve others,” she reflects. This ongoing process of self-reflection has only deepened her commitment to growth and learning. She embraces every opportunity to learn from others, and she recognizes that her business is only as strong as her ability to adapt and serve her clients’ needs.
At the heart of everything she does is a personal mantra that guides her thoughts, actions, and interactions: “See the same Divine Light in every being, as I see in myself. Let that vision guide my thoughts, words, and intentions in all I do.” This mantra is a reflection of the philosophy that has fueled her journey from the very beginning. For Sissy, it’s not just about creating content or building a business—it’s about elevating others and fostering an environment where every individual feels valued and empowered. It’s about seeing the inherent light in others and allowing that vision to guide every conversation, every podcast, and every interaction.
Looking to the future, Sissy is focused on creating positive change from within organizations, helping businesses lift every voice, and teaching others to listen deeply and fully.“It’s an honor to help clients find their true voice, bring their vision to life, and authentically share their brand’s story with the world,” she beams. What’s more, she’s excited about transforming the hundreds of hours of recorded material, along with the thousands of writings, musings, and ideas she has accumulated over the years, into a book that will share her unique, experiential approach to communication.
Sissy Siero’s story is proof that when you align your work with your true purpose, you can create something not just successful, but deeply meaningful. From the isolation of a global pandemic to the success of Siero Media, Sissy she has shown that real connection is the key to transformation—not just for businesses, but for individuals and communities alike. And with the best still yet to come, Sissy’s journey is just beginning.
